Who are we?

The West Midlands Ghostbusters are a passionate, community-driven fan group dedicated to spreading joy, nostalgia, and doing good in the name of everyone’s favourite paranormal eliminators. From conventions and charity events to hospital visits and fan days, we suit up in screen-accurate gear to entertain, engage, and most importantly, raise money and smiles for brilliant causes across the region. We're more than just fans — we're a family of volunteers using our love for Ghostbusters to make a difference, one proton pack-powered smile at a time.

What’s the Plan?

We’re planning to create a show-stopping Ghostbusters photo opportunity that not only celebrates our shared fandom, but also helps raise even more funds for brilliant charities - a photo op we'll take on the road with us to conventions, community events and the like, to help raising money for local charities.

At the centre of this vision is a high-impact, glowing “wall breaker” Slimer figure (the ugly little spud from Ghostbusters), bursting through a tiled wall backdrop — the perfect scene for fans to step into and react to! We’ll surround it with replica proton packs, lighting, sound, and signage from the West Midlands Ghostbusters, all geared to immerse guests in the moment and snap a memory they’ll never forget.

How It Works

Guests donate to charity.

We provide them a high-quality, shareable photo.

That’s it — simple, fun, and for a good cause.

Why We’re Asking For Help

We already own many of the props and gear to make this experience incredible — but the centrepiece of it all is a professional-grade, glowing wall-breaker Slimer. It’s not cheap - we've found one for sale for £300 - but it will elevate this from “nice fan display” to “jaw-dropping moment.” We're starting our target at £150 to simply help with the purchase of the centrepiece, but of course if we can fully fund it or go beyond this target, we can add stretch goals to make the experience even more memorable for our donating guests.

We’re asking for your help to fund this purchase, and in return, we’ll use it to raise significantly more money for charities throughout the year at events, conventions, and appearances.
