My name is Mahmoud AL Nakhala, and I live in the United Kingdom. Today, I am reaching out on behalf of my 11-year-old nephew, Haitham, who is living in Gaza.

Like every uncle, I want to see my nephew grow up in safety, receive a good education, and have the chance to follow his dreams. Sadly, the circumstances he faces are far beyond anything a child should have to endure.

Despite everything, Haitham has never stopped learning.

He is currently in Year 6 and has consistently been one of the highest-achieving students in his school. His teachers describe him as hardworking, curious, and exceptionally bright. Education is not simply something he attends—it is something he genuinely loves.

What amazes me most is his passion for writing.

Haitham speaks English fluently for his age and spends countless hours writing stories. His favorite genre is science fiction, where he creates imaginative worlds filled with adventure, hope, and possibility. His dream is to become an author one day, writing books that inspire readers around the world.

He has often told me that he dreams of studying in the United Kingdom. He wants the opportunity to continue his education in a stable environment where he can develop his talents, improve his writing, and work towards the future he has imagined for so long.

As his uncle, it is heartbreaking to know that such a talented child has so many obstacles standing between him and his dreams. I cannot change the circumstances he was born into, but I hope that, together, we can give him a chance to build a different future.

I have created this fundraiser to help cover the costs that would arise if an opportunity becomes available for Haitham to continue his education outside Gaza. These funds would be used for travel, temporary accommodation, educational expenses, school supplies, and other essential costs associated with beginning a new chapter safely.
