Hi everyone, my name is Steph and I am raising funds for my dear friend who has come to hard times.

My friend, Jeremy, has been co-parenting his lovely son, E, with his former partner. E has been living with his mom for the past few years in South Africa, where E's mom and Jeremy agreed it was a good place to raise him as they were having financial difficulties in the United States. Although very difficult, Jeremy has continuously visited his son over the years and talks with him every morning with the expectation and agreement that E would come back to the US for college and then live with Jeremy.

Unfortunately, E will be coming to the US sooner than anyone anticipated. Jeremy's former partner was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago, and although she made a recovery about 2-3 years ago, she recently fell very ill, and this recurrence of her cancer has left her with only days to weeks left. My dear friend left for South Africa after hearing this news to say his goodbyes and support his son through this difficult time for both of them. Jeremy will be returning to the United States with his son to restart their lives. They will be going through a lot of big changes such as moving to a new home (Jeremy's current residence cannot home both him and his son), grieving the loss of E's mom, finding support systems/resources for children with autism as E is autistic, finding a new and supportive school for E, and taking on the challenges of being a single parent.

Being a single parent is no easy task, especially with all these changes coming to them with no time to prepare physically, emotionally or financially. My friend is an amazing father who has valiantly taken on all the new changes as best as he can during this hard time for everyone.
