I desperately need money to move and sign a lease on a new apartment.

My lease is up on December 1st, but I honestly would like to get out of this building sooner. Earlier this year, they tried to evict me for having a cat. Thanks to my friends, I was able to get free legal help to prevent that from happening.

But since then, there's been animosity towards me in the building, and I would rather just leave. In addition to that, this building has a strong and consistent pest problem that they refuse to address. If you ask them to get an exterminator, the super just shows up with a container of spray and does an unprofessional sweep. If you ask again, they just give you the spray and tell you to do it. Then, if you try to hire an exterminator on your own, the super calls you as soon as the truck pulls up to berate you for it.

I have a million stories like that spanning the 5 years I've lived in this building. I really need to leave for my own mental health and quality of life. It's difficult to work in a place where it's impossible to feel comfortable. And my work has been suffering all year, as conditions have gotten worse.

It's embarrassing having to ask for help. It's disheartening to always be working or thinking about work and have it not reflected in my bank account. Right now, I live in a studio, but I'm seeking a one-bedroom apartment. I am currently in a long-distance relationship, and my partner is working towards moving to Brooklyn, but it hasn't happened yet. In the meantime, I need to be living in a place big enough for him to begin slowly moving in over time.

But beyond that... I am deeply unhappy, dealing with chronic pain and struggling to write here every day. A few months ago, I had to cut off my family financially because I had completely run out of money, and their response was devastating. For years while my mother was in jail, I supported her and my siblings both financially and emotionally to the detriment of my own health. Five years ago, I moved into this building after leaving a very toxic relationship and had to use all the money I had to move here. I even paid rent for an entire year up front when they gave me trouble for being a freelance writer.

Now, I have to move again, and I'm really hoping that it's my chance to start over with my health, my money, and my life. I desperately need to finish writing my book proposal in the hopes that a book deal will give me some financial stability for the first time in my life. I am so tired.

I could barely write this. I can barely end it. If you can, please help me get some peace.
