Helping My Son and His Cat Stay Safe While He Gets Back on His Feet
As a mom, it’s never easy to ask for help — but my heart is heavy, and my son truly needs a little support to make it through this rough patch.
He’s been through so much over the past few months — mentally, emotionally, and physically — but he’s doing everything he can to rebuild his life. He recently found a safe place to stay and a full-time job right next door, which was such a blessing!
The challenge now is timing. His first paycheck doesn’t come until November 14th, and his room rent is due by Wednesday evening. If it’s not paid, he’ll lose his place to stay — and his cat would lose her home too.
His cat has been one of his biggest sources of comfort through everything. At one point, he even had to give her up temporarily to a vet hospital until he could get stable again. They kindly took care of her, gave her shots, and only charged him $20 when he came back to get her. He cried when he was reunited with her — that’s how much she means to him.
He’s been actively looking for a second job and has reached out to local organizations for help, but hasn’t heard back yet. Even through all this, he keeps showing up, keeps trying, and refuses to give up.
We set a goal of $600, which will cover:
$350 for room rent
$100 for food (for him and his cat)
And a small cushion for essentials and transportation until his paycheck or a second job comes through.
Every little bit helps — and if you can’t give financially, prayers, shares, and kind words mean just as much.
He’s a good young man with a big heart who’s just had some hard breaks — and he’s really trying to do better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every message, prayer, share, or bit of support. Your kindness truly means the world to us.
