Thank you in advance for your interest in helping our high school best friend, Kerry (left). Kerry is 47 and has been very sick with Chronic EBV (better understood as/similar to FIBROMYALGIA, CHRONIC FATIGUE IMMUNE DEFICIENCY, ME) for 17 years. She is unable to work or be self-sufficient and does not have a traditional family unit that can help in any way.
Three years ago she was approaching homelessness due to accumulated circumstances, the bottom line being, she is not able to work and just get on with life. She was unable to find available space in shelters.
Her last resort was to go to Spain where she could have a roof over her head and some medical help but she will soon not have this option. She really needs to come home to the US where she can get the proper medical treatment she needs, and a place where she can heal. She needs to be closer to us, her best friends, and anyone, who can help her get the process started so she can rebuild her life, survive, and start to heal again.
All of this takes a lot of time and money and we are asking for your help. She needs to get back to the United States and get settled while she goes through the arduous process of applying for disability, affordable housing, etc which takes a long time.
Never in our wildest dreams did we think our best friend would be going through this. We want to do what we can to help her get back on her feet and to be as self-sufficient as she possibly can be.
Anything helps of course, even if it’s only $5. It all adds up. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely, Lizza Streicher (right) and Miles Garnier (center)
