A Fresh Start for Barb and Truman

Barbara and Truman Frasier are two of the most loving and selfless people I know. They have served their communities in leadership roles at the New York State Parks, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Kiwanis and Key Club, 4-H, their churches, and more. Barbara is an amazing mother who always encouraged creativity, silliness, reverence for nature, and loyalty to friends and family. Truman is an Air Force veteran and former Park Ranger who taught my brother Shane and I to work hard, laugh plenty, and treat everyone with consideration and respect.

But it has been a rough year for the Frasier family. At the start of the year both of my parents were separately hospitalized with serious conditions. They spent the next four months transported between hospitals and rehab facilities, going months without seeing their spouse and best friend. After they were finally united and released from hospital care, they faced the reality of a new apartment search. After living in the same house for 20 years, it was a challenge to urgently find a new home to start a fresh, healthier chapter.

The great news: After a difficult and costly search, Barbara and Truman recently moved into their new apartment.

The tough news: The past 6 months have resulted in extensive unanticipated expenses.

Barbara and Truman ask for very little from the world. They are humble, gracious, proud people who don't want to ask for favors or charity. But after enduring one of the most harrowing periods of their lives, we invite friends, family, and warm-hearted strangers to support their fresh start. We are seeking $5,000 to help cover a percentage of the unforeseen costs accrued in 2025:

moving costs
clean-up costs for the previous residence
furnishings for their new home
start-up groceries
rental assistance
additional medical costs

Barbara and Truman have dedicated their lives to making sure people feel safe, understood, and supported.
