My name is Erik, and in December I met a man named Mark who is currently experiencing homelessness. I gave Mark a free haircut, recorded the moment, and shared it on TikTok. I never expected the video to reach so many people, but it went viral — and the most common message I received was: “Please make a GoFundMe for him.”

Mark is a kind, humble, and grateful person who has fallen on hard times. Like many people experiencing homelessness, his situation is the result of life circumstances that can happen to anyone. A simple haircut reminded him — and all of us — that dignity, kindness, and community still matter.

This GoFundMe is being created to help Mark with:

• Temporary housing or shelter

• Food and basic necessities

• Clothing and hygiene items

• Transportation

• Any steps needed to help him move toward stability and independence
