A final family trip to India with Jesse, who is life limited
Donation protected
Hi, myself (Cat) and Mary lived and worked in India for 18 years as voluntary paediatricians and founded Love the One, which continues to help 100's of children daily in the state of Odisha, India.
In April 2023 we returned to the UK after being in India all the way through the pandemic, co-ordinating an emergency response which over two years included distributing 4 million meals, having covid treatment centres, educating 100's of children and adopting our five children who had been abandoned with us.
We planned to visit the UK for only 5 months, for a rest, but due to immigration issues, we weren't able to go back until our 5 adopted children from India, became the same nationality as us - British. 2 years and £20,000 later and 4 out of 5 are British and Soma, our oldest has indefinite leave to remain in UK.
Jesse, our youngest has severe cerebral palsy and intestinal failure and is on a palliative journey. At the moment he is just about OK to make one final trip to India this summer, so he and all of us can say a proper good bye to our friends and Indian family, as a whole family.
After 2 years it would be incredible for everyone to see Jesse again, for Josh, our 9 year old autistic whirlwind, to see all his friends at the Love the One Children's Therapy Centre and for Soma, Anish and Pumi to reconnect with their bio mum and older brother, village community and all their friends at Love the One.
Flights, passports, visas and insurance is currently coming in at £10,000.
At the moment we don't have that amount of savings, but we know that Jesse will not be able to make this journey after this summer, so if you are able to help us do one final visit as a whole family, we will be so grateful.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and we can't wait to see all our friends at Love the One! For more information go to www.lovetheone.org, @lovetheoneindia on Instagram and Love the One on Facebook.
