A Father’s Plea: Save My Daughters from War

Donation protected
Dearest readers,

My name is Ayad Hawas, a father enduring one of the most painful chapters any parent could ever face. I write to you from Rafah, a place that no longer offers shelter but serves as a holding ground for those of us caught between war and survival. I am a Palestinian father, displaced from our home in northern Gaza, where my family once lived in modest dignity. Today, our lives are reduced to bare survival under the weight of bombardment, fear, and heartbreak.

I have three daughters, each of them carrying unique challenges and precious dreams. They are not just children—they are bright souls who need urgent medical treatment, specialized care, and safe refuge. Two of them require continuous medication and health monitoring, and one of my daughters has special needs that demand stable routines, therapeutic support, and an environment where her condition can be properly managed and nurtured.

Before the war, we were managing—barely, but we were managing. Our lives revolved around getting the right medications, therapies, and school accommodations for our girls. I worked hard to provide stability and care, and we built a life of love around their needs. But all of that was torn apart in a single moment when we were forced to evacuate. The airstrikes didn’t just destroy buildings—they shattered any sense of safety and stripped us of the fragile normalcy we had built.

Since the war escalated, we have been displaced multiple times. Every time we move, we lose something more—medical records, access to hospitals, continuity of care. We are now in Rafah, clinging to hope. But even that refuge is under constant threat, with invasion looming and the border crossing at risk of closing at any moment.

In the name of humanity, I reach out to you now—not as a beggar, but as a father trying to save his children. We urgently need to evacuate to Egypt where my daughters can receive the medication and treatment they desperately need. Our fundraising goal is $45,000 USD, which covers:

$28,000 USD for the entrance fees required to cross into Egypt for my family

$12,000 USD for temporary relocation, shelter, medication, medical evaluations, therapy sessions, and educational support for my daughters

The remaining $5,000 USD will go toward processing travel documents, handling website and transfer fees, and ensuring our legal stay and safety in Egypt

This isn’t just about escape—this is about survival and the chance to rebuild a life for my daughters where they are safe, treated, and given the chance to grow. Your support, however small, will help provide urgent care and a fighting chance for us to recover.

To anyone reading this: you are our lifeline. Please consider standing with us in this terrifying time. We are not asking for charity—we are asking for a chance to live. My daughters deserve more than air raid sirens and fear. They deserve classrooms, medications, therapy, and the soft routine of childhood.

Help us make that possible. Share our story. Stand with us. Lift us out of this darkness and help my girls find their way to light and safety.

Be with me in this difficult ordeal.

With gratitude and hope,
Ayad Hawas and his daughters
