Hi, my name is Luisa. I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom to two incredible boys, ages 14 and 10. I'm sharing our story because our family is facing one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but today I'm doing it for my family.

Everything changed this week when my husband, Sergio, was unexpectedly detained by ICE after attending an immigration appointment. Overnight, our family lost not only our primary source of income but also the love, strength, and stability that Sergio brings to our home every day. Since then, our world has been turned upside down as we try to navigate an incredibly uncertain and frightening situation.

Together, Sergio and I have worked hard to build a loving home for our boys, who have been dedicated athletes since they were young. Just a few days ago, our family was planning for the start of a new school year. Now, I'm doing everything I can to keep a roof over our heads, put food on the table, and make sure they can start the school year with some sense of normalcy while carrying the weight of missing their dad.

As a family, we're doing everything we can. We're selling belongings, cutting every expense possible, and leaning on our loved ones for support. But despite our efforts, it won't be enough.

I'm humbly asking for your help. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward keeping our home, covering groceries and essential bills, supporting our boys, and helping with legal and immigration-related expenses as we fight to bring Sergio home.

Todo cambió esta semana cuando mi esposo, Sergio, fue detenido inesperadamente por ICE después de asistir a una cita de inmigración. De un momento a otro, nuestra familia no solo perdió su principal fuente de ingresos, sino también el amor, la fortaleza y la estabilidad que Sergio aporta a nuestro hogar cada día. Desde entonces, nuestras vidas han dado un giro inesperado mientras tratamos de enfrentar una situación llena de incertidumbre y miedo.

Sergio y yo hemos trabajado muy duro para construir un hogar lleno de amor para nuestros hijos, quienes han sido atletas dedicados desde pequeños. Hace apenas unos días estábamos preparándonos para el inicio de un nuevo año escolar. Hoy, estoy haciendo todo lo posible por mantener un techo sobre nuestras cabezas, poner comida en la mesa y asegurarme de que nuestros hijos puedan comenzar el año escolar con la mayor normalidad posible, mientras enfrentan el dolor de extrañar a su papá.

Como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo que está a nuestro alcance. Estamos vendiendo nuestras pertenencias, reduciendo todos los gastos posibles y apoyándonos en nuestros seres queridos. Aun así, nuestros esfuerzos no serán suficientes.
