A Family's Fight Against Hunger and Hardship

Displacement & Shelter Conditions
Raed’s family has now been forced to flee more than 17 times. Each displacement rips them away from whatever little stability they’ve managed to find, and their flimsy tent has borne the brunt, torn by rushing winds, battered by nearby bombings, and worn thin by sun and rain. It offers almost no protection against the searing daytime heat, the biting cold at night, or the insects that swarm in without mercy.

Urgent Housing & Monthly Needs
With no safe tent left, they’re scrambling to rent a small shack or room, rent is around $400 per month, an amount they simply cannot cover on their own amid soaring food prices and no steady income.

Critical Medical & Health Requirements
Raed (7) still struggles to breathe at night because of a broken nose; he’s in dire need of an operation to set it properly so he can sleep and play without pain.

Mohammed, the father, suffers from a chronic spine issue that makes lifting heavy objects impossible. He relies on painkillers just to function day to day, costing about $100 per month, and still can barely care for his family.

# Raed's Story
Raed is just 7 years old, but he already understands hunger in a way no child should. He knows there isn’t always enough food, and asking his parents for more is something he doesn’t do. He understands that his father, who works as a freelancer, can’t find work in these conditions. Raed knows that his father even lost his laptop, the only tool he had to work, and without it, there’s no way to earn any money.

Even though Raed has a medical condition that makes it hard for him to breathe, he helps as much as he can. He carries water for his family and helps take care of his little sister and his mom. He’s learned to do what he can, even when it hurts. Raed’s world is full of struggle, but he doesn’t complain. He just does what he can to help his family survive, even when it feels impossible.

# Widad's Story
Widad is only 5 years old. She doesn’t fully understand what’s happening around her, but she feels the weight of it in her own way. Most of the time, Widad laughs. She laughs at the little things, at her family’s jokes, at the world around her, even though it’s not the world she should be in.
Widad doesn't know what a normal childhood should feel like. She doesn’t know what it's like to play outside without fear or to have enough food every day. All she knows is this world of uncertainty and pain. She deserves to know what it’s like to feel safe and happy, to just be a child.

# Hawand's Story
Hawand, Raed and Widad’s mother, wakes up every morning hoping that all of this is just a bad dream. But it’s not. It’s real. Her children are scared every day, running and hiding, afraid that at any moment, something terrible could happen. She watches them and her heart breaks. She wants to protect them, but there’s nothing she can do.
Every day feels like a nightmare that doesn’t end. She wishes so badly that she could wake up and find everything okay, but the reality is harsh. She can’t stop the fear in her children’s eyes. She can’t make them feel safe.

# Mohammed's Story
Raed’s father has always worked hard and never asked for help. He’s always been the one to give, to help others when they need it. But now, after being unable to work for over 1.5 years, things have changed. With food prices through the roof, he’s left with no choice but to ask for help.

“I’ve never asked for anything from anyone,” he says. “I’ve always believed in working for what we need. But now, I can’t even do that. The prices are so high, we can’t afford food anymore. I’m asking for help because I want my kids to eat. We don’t need anything fancy. We just need enough to survive. Any food, anything to help us get by.”

>> Simple Request
Raed’s family is just asking for enough food to survive. They’re struggling, and they need help. Every little bit counts. Your support can give them a chance to get through this tough time. It can bring some relief, and it can help them keep going.

Please, if you can, help them. All they want is to survive.
