Help save this families home!!

Hi! My name is Lisa, friend of Steve and Michelle. They are scared that I am posting this but gave me the approval. Their pride is so strong, they are shattered and embarrassed that this is what it’s come to. Desperation to save their home. I want to help this family as best I can. This is the only way I know how (never done this before but have seen magic happen on here before and call me a wizard cause I want to make magic happen!!)

This family is in dire need of help. At risk of losing their family home due to unforeseen medical expenses and hardships, one after another, year after year. And we only have a few days to help!! They have to come up with minimum $40,000 by Monday or lose everything they have worked for and struggled to keep in the last 6 years.

Steve and Michelle are 2 of the most caring, big hearted, throw you a bone if ever needed kind of people. Their door is always open to those in need. With warm food, comfy blankets, and a shoulder to cry on, their hospitality is second to none. But unfortunately, as the cruel world works, they are now in desperate need of help.

Steve and Michelle have 6 kids. One of which is legally blind who still lives in their home. They also have 2 daughters with epilepsy one of which, along with her son (their grandson) recently lived with them as well. They have a door is always open policy and are willing to give anything they have to anybody in need. But now, it’s their turn to be shown what the world can do!

The downward spiral all started in 2019 when Momma Michelle tore her knee to garbage. She was in a terrible ski accident which led to multiple surgeries and treatment the years following. Yet she still went to work!!! Cortisone shots, knee surgery, physio and back surgery in November 2020, even with all the Covid garbage to boot. Then comes the second wave. Just as she was healing up enough to get back to work, devastating news arrived. January 2021, Michelle had a “lump” and in February 2021, she received some of the worst words delivered to any human. Cancer. Surgery to remove the lump was March 2021. Aggressive chemo began in May. 3 chemo treatments every 3 weeks followed by 21 treatments of radiation. But that’s not all. This lady got herself together enough to volunteer at the food bank while recovering!! Thankfully, to this day Momma Michelle is in remission and holding strong as can be!! Her back and knee are still toast but she fights and powers through the pain for her family!! She is power and strength all in one!

Steve also hasn’t had the best cards dealt in the last 5 years. He was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and has had multiple surgeries in the last 5 years to try and fix it with the most recent one being in March of 2025. There are times where Steve can’t stand, sit, or move without being in excruciating pain. Due to his back, Steve is unable to work which has been a huge financial strain on their family. I worked with Steve for a year between surgeries when his back pain was tolerable and he is one of the hardest working guys I’ve ever met. He’s smart, great with a welder and fabricating whatever his wild mind comes up with. Including a massive treehouse for his grandkids is his yard that looks like something from an amusement park! It really is incredible! He would give anybody the shirt off his back if they needed it, even if it meant he’d be cold. He has a heart of gold and really is one of the funniest guys I know, always there to cheer a person up! Unfortunately surgery didn’t fix the problem and he suffered another episode which again forced him to leave the workforce and have another surgery.

With all these hardships they’ve been dealt, they still both smile and carry themselves with pride so for them to ask for help is emotionally taxing on them all. Unfortunately with them both being on disability, they are unable to obtain a loan to help with their financial crisis at this time. I will say, Steve’s most recent surgery has had many positive effects and once he gets his strength back and gets the all clear from the Doctor, he plans to get back to the workforce and leave these troubled times behind. They would love to be able to pay anyone back who can help them out once they get back on their feet again.

Every little bit counts and if they are unable to obtain the full amount needed, all donations will be returned. They completely understand that lots of people are struggling right now and may not be able to donate much but every $1 helps and they thank you from the bottom of their hearts if you are able to help.

I know we don’t have much time at all but if we can help this family save their home, they would be forever grateful.
