Hi! We are fundraising for a family very very close to us, a single self employed parent with two small children in our community in Oakland, CA, who is at risk of being evicted from their rent controlled home due to COVID rent relief from the government not coming through. July 1st the COVID protections end and they could be evicted. We have gotten some funding through a program but are still short and have searched for support and have not found any current programs to help. We are raising the minimum needed to keep them in their home until August 1st and if we exceed our goal the money will go to future rent as COVID has made their income inconsistent.

This family could be your family, or the one next door or the one next to you at drop off. They are very embarrassed and do not want to ask for help. They would want to pay every single person back.
