Hi Everyone, It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this. It is a nightmare I never expected to live through, let alone find myself sitting here asking for help. But today I am reaching out to anyone in a position to help pull us through the darkest days, weeks and month’s ahead. Around 6 months ago my husband Dave Mauri was involved in a horrific accident, He was ran over and dragged under the car of an out of control driver He’s now suffering extensive, life changing injuries. Between multiple infections and the risk of losing his leg. Dave has a gruelling road of surgeries ahead for his knee and both shoulders. Because he is unable to work for 12-18 months until he recovers and receives rehabilitation, our family has really been struggling to stay afloat. As if times weren’t hard enough, our world completely shattered on Friday 23 rd January 2026 at 4.30 pm, we received a phone call no parent should ever receive. Our eldest child and only son, Daniel passed away suddenly and alone at home from an unknown medical episode. Dan was a healthy , fit 42 year old man , a devoted husband to Kate, and an absolute hero to his two young children Tyler (8) & Hunter (6). He was a painter like his dad, and they had big plans of joining businesses when Dave recovered. Dan was going to be his fathers strength, taking in the physical work so they could support each other. Now that dream is gone, and our family is destroyed more than words can explain. Dan also has a younger sister, who absolutely adores him and vice versa, she and her family. ( Dan was an amazing uncle) to Chele’s two kids, one who is sadly about to turn 21, a milestone Dan would hate to miss and gut wrenching for our family. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Because of our ongoing financial struggle since Dave’s accident, we simply don’t have the funds to pay for Dan’s funeral. This was so sudden. And so unexpected. We are desperately asking for help to give our son the amazing send off he truly deserves. And to help keep Kate and the kids supported as a family as we navigate this impossible grief.
