A week before I go on this trip I will be doing a ‘dip a day’, meaning I will be doing a cold water dip in my local sea everyday for a week to help me raise money for this charity.

About me

Hello! (Bula) my name is Jasmin Robinson, and I am a 23-year-old third year student at Teesside University, studying Interior Architecture. I have a passion for designing and travelling, I love a challenge and trying something new. This is a once in a lifetime experience to make a difference, doing this program means I can contribute directly towards UN Sustainable Development Goals.

I found out about the Think Pacific opportunity through my university, which is a trip to Fiji volunteering on a community build project for 28 days in June. I will be living in a Fijian village with a Fijian family. Sharing experiences with the adults and children of the village.

Aims of the program

The building projects make a difference to rural villages, predominately creating nursing stations and health centres, these will provide workstations for health workers and hold supplies. The program will be split into morning workshops which will consist of the build and the culture course which I will be immersed in rural Fijian culture.

Break down of funds

The registration fee for Think Pacific’s program is £195 GBP

Flights to Fiji and back to the UK are roughly £1500 GBP

The project fee for the Fiji program is £1950 GBP

This fee gives me accommodation while in Fiji and provides food and domestic travel (buses/airport transfer). Additionally, 33% of the project fee will be given through charitable donation to Think Pacific to help their charity continue.
