A Day of Remembrance
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kellie
In 2009, I lost my son Isaiah to the "insanity" of gun violence. What began as an argument, ended with my son desperately fighting for his life. After the argument, the other person returned with a gun and with one shot, Isaiah bled out and died. He left behind his grieving family, including an 11 year-old son.
From that year on my family began hosting a BBQ to remember Isaiah. What began as a memorial for friends & family grew into something much more. In the 10th year, I was introduced to and welcomed into the organizaton Not Another Child, which is a commumity of those left behind- mostly mothers but also families. Through this organization, I found a way to be a part of the solution; a way to help eradicate gun violence through the healing process. We push our legislators to fight for sensible gun laws and implore them to see how gun violence devastates families.
As part of our work, my family's day of remembrance has grown not just into a way to reach families impacted by gun violence and give forth love; But it has grown beyond what my family can do on our own. While healing is key, the families have a host of other needs. My family is but one link in the healing chain.
We are asking for your help so that we can expand in ways to support more families such as hosting additional activities for the children left behind. Wont you please support our fund so that we can go further to reach more families. Any support is appreciated.
If you are not able to contribute....PLEASE...share this with others.
Thank you
