I’m opening this GoFundMe for someone who has carried this community on his shoulders for quite some time—Brandon. He’s the voice behind Interlachen Word of Mouth, a dedicated youth coach, and a constant servant-leader who gives without hesitation and never asks for anything in return. Today, he’s facing a storm no family should endure alone.
Brandon’s wife was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and she is began her first chemotherapy treatment last week. Her treatment is thankfully covered, but everything that surrounds cancer—the travel, the uncertainty, the lost income, the day-to-day strain—comes with a heavy cost. At the same time, Brandon’s daughter is in the middle of a severe mental-health crisis and requires critical care that is not covered. Losing his insurance from position elimination during the shutdown in October left him fighting an uphill battle with mounting expenses and very limited resources.
These challenges didn’t come one at a time—they hit all at once. And even now, Brandon continues to show up for others, trying to hold his family together while still pouring into a community he loves.
For the last few years, Brandon has been the steady, reliable force behind so many local efforts—supporting families at Christmas, organizing information, giving kids a safe place on the field, and building connections that strengthen the communities from the inside out. He has been a champion for others. Now, he needs champions standing behind him.
This fundraiser is about giving Brandon’s family room to breathe—help with medical-related expenses, essential care for his wife and daughter, and the everyday costs that don’t stop just because life gets hard.
If Brandon has ever made you laugh, encouraged you, coached your child, supported your business, informed you during tough moments, or simply made your community feel a little more like home, I’m asking you to stand with him now.
Let’s show him that the community he has lifted up for so long is ready to lift him.
Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your willingness to fight alongside this family when they need us most.
