A Ride For Randy the Poet

Some of you may know Randy Moomaw who has served as one of our talented and dedicated Local News Reporters in Cheatham County, TN for many years and is a beloved, appreciated community member and talented poet. You may not be aware that Randy has suffered several illnesses and personal losses in the last couple of years. Some of you are aware that he works two jobs to make ends meet and that his car is inoperable and unrepairable. Randy has been without a ride for several weeks and has to depend on rides from friends and now an expensive rental car to get to work and medical appointments. Lack of transportation is threatening his ability to earn a living.
Personally, I believe that most of us know Randy would never ask his friends to help unless he exhausted all other alternatives. After some discussion, it was decided that it would be a kind gesture to help Randy get back on his feet – or perhaps we should say get mobile again. For that reason, we are accepting donations for “A Ride for Randy the Poet.”
Every donation is much appreciated and will help inch us toward the goal of $5,000. This amount will fund a reliable used car. The funds will cover purchase, license plates, and a first tank of gas for Randy. Each individual donation made by our tightknit, supportive community is greatly appreciated. Compassion for our fellow man is a priceless gift we can share.
Your donation will make a difference in helping Randy once again be self-sufficient. He will be able do simple things again like get groceries and go to doctor appointments without relying on others and again bring his humor, love, and talent to various venues in our community.. We are hoping to collect all donations soon so that Randy will have a reliable vehicle as soon as possible.
