A Car for Our Dear Friends in Uganda
Donation protected
Paul and I have some dear friends of ours that are in need of some extra support in this season of life.
In 2014 we stepped away from working at an organization in Uganda that was not a healthy environment. There was a lot of spiritual and emotional abuse that took place, and thankfully Paul and I had a support system that we could lean on as we were going through the complicated process of leaving.
Our friends that we are hoping to raise money for now haven't had quite the same experience.
They left the organization very recently and have faced many financial difficulties. Without going into too many details, their home was owned by the organization as well as their source of income, obviously. So when their income went away, so did their home.
They are incredibly hard workers, so they have been able to make do in the meantime and build themselves a home to live in as well as provide for their 5 kids. One of which has now started college.
In order to have extra funds though, they sold their van. This would usually be a situation that can be navigated with public transportation in Uganda, but because they live pretty far out in a village, it is actually pretty difficult.
On a bright note, the husband was recently offered a position as a worship pastor, but the church is over 2 hours away and they aren't able to pay him a salary at this point. They do pay him a stipend, but it is used up every week by the transportation fees for him to get to work.
This means that for over a year now this family has not worshipped together. So not only are they weathering a stressful situation together day after day, but they don't get the relief and joy of going to worship as a family on Sundays.
This is where we step in. One need that I think we can meet is getting this a vehicle that can fit their family so that at least they can worship together on Sundays. This vehicle would also allow them to move around more freely and find more income opportunities.
Paul and I will be contributing $500 as well as paying all of the transaction fees to send them the money in Uganda. Whatever you are able to donate, whether it's $5, $50, or $5,000 will make an impact.
Thank you for loving this family that you may have never met. Every small act of care matters.
