Taxes, insurance, warenty costs for Ryan's new car

Hey there. My name is Jami Slotnick and I've set up this Go Fund Me page to help an amazing man and his family. Ryan Culmer is a one-to-one paraprofessional at Albert M. Greenfield School where he has worked to support the school's autistic team in the past.

For the past 3 years, he's been directly assigned to my son Brody, assisting him in the classroom all day. Brody has bilateral hearing loss, speech apraxia, and other comorbid cognitive anomalies. He also stepped in when COVID hit. (Read the Philadelphia Inquirer Article about him and Brody in case you missed it during the pandemic: https://www.inquirer.com/life/covid-special-education-virtual-learning-aide-student-bond-20210622.html).

Ryan is an exceptional young man from West Philadelphia. He's lucky to have been blessed with a beautiful family. His daughter, Journey is in pre-school and his son (and Brody's pal) Riley also attends Albert M. Greenfield as a 7th grader. They are both exceptional children.

On Sunday, December 11th, Ryan was in a car accident that took place on the Schuylkill Expressway. Ryan was driving his car as a Lyft Driver to make extra money for his kids for holiday time. Everyone survived the crash but his car was completely totaled. Ryan is an extremely bright, hard-working man. He also attends Eastern University College. In addition to working two early childhood jobs and going to school simultaneously, he's also a wonderful father, always looking out for his kids and setting an example of what it means to be a great person and a contributor to a community. I seriously do not know how he does it. In 2021, Ryan was recognized by his West Philadelphia neighborhood Councilman as an upstanding citizen in his community.

Brody would not be excelling in academics had it not been for Ryan's support, encouragement, and pure love. He and Brody share a rapport like none other I've ever seen. They deeply love each other and respect each other. Ryan is the reason why Brody earned all As and one B for his first-semester report card in 6th grade.

At 30 years old, "Mr. Ryan" is a beloved member of the Albert M. Greenfield community and has been for quite some time. I'm hopeful that during this holiday giving season we can all come together to help Ryan and his family. His current position doesn't exactly afford things like a new or even used car in good condition. That's why I'm asking all of my friends and family to help this very deserving, amazing person who has had a very challenging year.

Ryan's favorite quote is "Walk by faith, not by sight." This is a short yet powerful quote that reflects his personal DNA. He is a non-judgemental person who serves kids who really need extra support. To me, that will surely earn him wings. But for now, he really needs wheels! Hopeful that you can help.

Thank you!
