The Story
In October 2023, our lives changed forever when my husband, James, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home from an undiagnosed blood clot. Since that day, my children and I have been living with my parents while I try to navigate the overwhelming aftermath of such a profound loss.
I have been working tirelessly to rebuild our lives. Over the past two years, I have:
Trained and qualified as a Nail Technician.
Trained as an Online English Tutor.
Built and managed an Etsy shop for my artwork.
Sold personal items on Vinted daily to keep us afloat.
The Hurdle
Despite working multiple "hustles," I'm unable to progress them further due to space and finances. once in our own home again I plan on opening a home based nail salon and selling my artwork on the side as well as being an English tutor online for foreign students. However I am currently trapped in a financial loop. I am still paying the mortgage and bills for our family home, even though we cannot live there any longer (Due to the traumatic nature of what happened).
Living with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD as well as solo parenting two young autistic children all while dealing with grief, means that the logistical mountain of clearing out our family home has been incredibly difficult to climb. I am desperate to get the house sold this year so the kids and I can finally have a fresh start, but I’m stuck: I can’t sell the house until it’s cleared, and I can’t afford the storage or the "breathing room" to get the job done.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I’m not looking for a long-term handout; I’m looking for a bridge. I have tried every available option, including contacting the bank asking for help, sadly to no avail.
My goal is to raise funds to cover the "ghost costs" of our house for the next few months. This will allow me to:
Secure a storage unit for our memories and belongings.
Cover the mortgage and utilities while the house is being cleared and put on the market.
Hire a skip/help to fast-track the clearance so we can reach the finish line by the end of 2026.
The Goal
Setting this up is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do and it's literally my last resort. But I’ve realized I can't do this part alone. By helping us cross this "bridge," you aren't just helping with bills, you are giving my children and me the mental space to heal and the stability to finally start our next chapter.
Any contribution, no matter how small, means the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing this link is just as helpful.
Thank you for your kindness,
Tamsyn x
