Richard was found in a high-risk shelter in the South in terrible condition- completely blind, with eyes so dry they couldn’t produce tears, covered in thick, painful buildup from years without care. His fur was severely matted, and his mouth was in crisis. His teeth were badly decayed, and a serious infection left him living in constant pain.

Since rescuing Richard, we’ve been able to treat his eyes, and the improvement has been remarkable. When Richard first came to us, he was also fighting a severe respiratory infection- and luckily, he survived. He’s shown nothing but strength every step of the way. But his dental disease remains severe. He now needs an almost full dental extraction. This surgery is the final and critical step to giving him a comfortable, pain-free life.
