Let's Give Ronnie and Steve a Hand

G’day legends, my name is Jo Russell. Like plenty of other Goldfields folk, I’m a bit of a regular at The Grand Hotel Boulder. And if you’ve ever swung by, you’d know that Ronnie and Steve Maddocks run the joint with a warm welcome and an ice-cold bevvy ready to go. For a lot of us, The Grand ain't just a pub—it’s a second home.

But right now, Ronnie and Steve are doing it bloody tough. Steve’s been hit hard with a spinal lesion and is slogging away at rehab over in Perth, working to get back on his feet. Meanwhile, Ronnie’s holding down the fort at The Grand while also zipping back and forth to Perth to support him. And let’s be real—none of that comes cheap.

On top of travel costs, they’ve gotta sort out some pricey renovations to make sure Steve’s got what he needs when he gets home. And last time I checked, Bunnings didn’t have a “life-changing home mods” sale going on.

Ronnie and Steve have always been the kind to look after others—whether it’s their regulars at the pub or fundraising for Fiona Stanley Rehab. Now it’s time we return the favour.
