Honoring My Mother With a Memory That Matters

My mother has been living with early-onset Alzheimer’s. She is still stable and able to travel with support — and we want to use this time wisely.

This birthday isn’t about extravagance.

It’s about presence.

She was the second person to hold my daughter when she was born.

The love she gave me is the same love shaping my daughter’s life today.

I haven’t always been the son I should have been. Life humbled me. I’ve grown. And today, one of the deepest motivations in my life is honoring the woman who raised me.

We are raising funds to cover:

• Round-trip airfare from Bogotá to New York

• Travel insurance and required medical clearances

• Safe, modest accommodations

• Basic transportation during her stay

Mi mamá ha estado viviendo con Alzheimer de edad temprana. Actualmente se encuentra estable y puede viajar con acompañamiento, y queremos aprovechar este tiempo con sabiduría.

Ella fue la segunda persona en cargar a mi hija cuando nació. El amor que me dio es el mismo amor que hoy está formando la vida de mi hija.

No siempre fui el hijo que debía ser. La vida me humilló, me enseñó y me transformó. Hoy, una de mis motivaciones más profundas es honrar a la mujer que me dio la vida.
