As I mark another year of my life, I want to celebrate in a way that truly matters to me. Instead of gifts, I’m asking for your support for Unite for Her, an organisation helping girls in Afghanistan stay connected to education during a time when they are not allowed to attend school.
It has been over 1,600 days since school doors were shut to girls in Afghanistan. Over 1,600 days of lost classrooms, lost routines, and stolen opportunities. In this darkness, initiatives like Let Her Learn - especially their Daneshland program shine a light—keeping education alive through books, reading, and learning as a form of connection, hope, and survival. With every book read, the future is shaped, opinions are formed, and resistance takes place. Learning itself becomes an act of courage.
This cause is deeply personal to me. Education changed my life for the better. As a child, I had to fight for my own education, and I know firsthand how much is taken away when the right to learn is denied. Education gave me confidence, choices, and a future I once couldn’t imagine.
Every donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. Your support helps keep knowledge, hope, and possibility alive during an incredibly dark time. This is the most meaningful way I can think of to mark this moment in my life.
