A Bicycle for Baby Alcides

Donation protected
Everyone!

My name is Alcides Aleman, and I am a public school teacher/run Wildlife Strength, Performance, and Literacy. My son has turned 5, and judging by the way his knees hit my hips when we are on our bike, our time riding has come to a close.
In an attempt to make this a teachable moment and not just handing a bike over to him, before he gets his bike, we are embarking on a 1 day, 140 mile bicycle ride from the World Trade Center (NYC) to the Montauk Lighthouse--all of which is being detailed in this 5 part series on preparation for the ride https://wildlifespl.substack.com/p/just-above-my-head-our-crucible

I thought it would be just as great to experience a true physical crucible to earn his bicycle and wield this lesson with the understanding of the broad results of being a good person and applying these principles to build and sustain all of the communities we are lucky to be a part of by seeing and understanding that things in life are earned by working hard (our longest ride together outside of this was 71 miles) and being there for your people (having the people we have helped along the way do something nice for him in helping get his own set of wheels under him). The total amount ($400) will cover the bike he chose, as well as his water bottle holder, and a banana bell. If I have ever done anything to give you a hand in any way, if you enjoyed reading the series, or if you have learned anything from watching or reading my material, or have been a part of a community in which I have directly jumped in and given my time/skill with no request for anything in return (this happens a lot), we would appreciate anything you can contribute to help get this little guy his bike once the ride is complete (August 19th). Thank you all, always, for listening and being a part of his life. It is truly the most special thing that running this organization has brought me.
