This fundraiser will directly benefit our daughter Isla's future. We have made so many beautiful memories in St. Croix but after the challenges we have faced in the past few months- we have realized it's time for us to start the next chapter in our lives. I was laid off from my job in April due to COVID and was assured that I would be brought back on but my boss was dishonest- and our work relationship has come to an end. I have since enrolled in school to become a certified health coach and will be done with my program in spring of 2021. We want to be closer to our families- especially during these uncertain times. We want to raise Isla in an environment where we have access to great healthcare, great schools, and just more resources in general. We are very limited as to what work we can find, as well as the positive growth we seek for our family. We still haven't received any unemployment so these funds will help us with our relocation costs- specifically shipping some of our personal belongings, buying a used car, and paying our rent for the first couple of months until Roland is able to secure a full-time job. The number of positive COVID cases are rising down here- and our government isn't shutting down tourism so we want to leave as soon as possible. Our goal is to be in Connecticut by mid August at the latest. We have been asking our landlord to make necessary repairs to our ceiling/roof for several months and he hasn't done a thing- we don't feel safe as we approach the peak of hurricane season. We know that this is a difficult financial time for a lot of people- so if you're able to give- any amount, small or large would be greatly appreciated.
