Patricia McQuade was a vibrant Wasonville, CA community leader who lovingly managed Pinto Lake City Park for decades. In recent years she spearheaded a campaign, with the help of Friends of Pinto Lake, the City of Watsonville, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board, to restore the health of Pinto Lake.
Patricia was also the creator of Nature Trading Cards - a beautiful set of educational flash cards featuring the rich diversity of plants and animals that make up the environs of different parts of the United States. Most of the cards feature Patricia's photographs and expert descriptions for each species.
The funds you donate will be used to pay the City of Watsonville for the bench (along with a plaque) and installation of a bird-friendly commemorative tree and bench in her memory at Pinto Lake City Park, the lake she loved, and for all those who will visit the Park.
The request for donations should take no more than two months. Friends of Pinto Lake will help plan a public memorial service and unveiling of the Pat McQuade Memorial Bench this summer.
Our local communities knew Patricia from many different walks of life. Please help spread the word on social media and emails to raise funds for the Patricia McQuade Memorial.
