I am Amy, one of Kari's older sisters. Kari passed away from breast cancer at the young age of 33, on December 19th, 2025.
For all that knew her, knew she had a heart of gold. She was quiet, mysterious and sweet as hell. She loved her nieces and nephews more than anything, and all babies always felt comfortable with her. She also had the best pup in the world that did not leave her side, even after she passed.
Kari fought hard, after being my strength through our brother's passing in April. She was diagnosed June 13th, 2025 with stage 4 metastatic beast cancer, which happens to be the same cancer that took our mom in 2019. Once she was diagnosed, her and I instantly went into fight mode, going to multiple doctors appointments every week, to going organic, to trying different natural remedies, and everything in-between. Unfortunately, as days progressed, the cancer prevailed in taking over her body. To add to the devastation, it was discovered on her most recent scan, new growths in her brain, liver, lungs, spine, hips, & lymph nodes.
Although odds were stacked against her, Kari was willing to do what she needed to do, to prolong life, and expressed multiple times that she wasn't ready to go. She was a fighter and hustler!
I think the message Kari would love for us to pass along is, don't be my mom and I, and get your boobies checked! No family deserves to go through this once, let alone twice.
Anything monetary or spiritual, is beyond what we could ask for. We just want to give her a damn good celebration & resting place!
With love, xoxo,
The Kari Berg Family
