Roscoe's Chariot (Zach Johnston's New Car)

If you're landing here, you probably know Zach in some capacity from his involvement at Antioch; he may have served you or with you, shown up to learn from and help you, led you in LifeGroup, or helped you know the lyrics to your favorite worship songs from the production booth.
And if you've gotten to know him, you know he's pretty weird.. and that he watches a lot of anime and loves his dog, Roscoe, more than he loves himself. He's also weirdly political, and loves what some wouldn't even consider a genre of music, a style he's coined "hypno techno."
But you also probably know that he encountered Jesus here at Antioch Indy in a real life-altering way, in 2017, (he keeps track of it, and can probably tell you down to the day how long it's been) and since that time he's been the definition of loyal and committed, consistently showing up, and willing to grow with hunger to know God in every way possible.
And now he needs our help. He needs a new car. Literally rust has eaten through the body and part of the frame. And it's now a 'when not if,' for other complications to develop. (It's the car he was given by his mom, and has been/is his only means of transportation.)
And what's funny is, he doesn't want our help. He's settled into, "life is hard, and its frustrating, but God is good and I'm a Christian so I can't complain."
And God is good, so good. But so is community. And sometime's it's just really fun for community to come together. To surprise someone, even when they weren't asking, to say we see you, we believe in you, and we want to help.
And what a cool opportunity to offer help, in a way that wasn't asked for, because that person didn't even think that kind of help was an actual option.
So the ask is $8000.
We're looking to get him a dependable SUV, with less than 80k miles, that gets ~20mpg, and has good cargo space, for equipment for work and mostly for Roscoe.
In all the research that's been done, a vehicle with those prerequisites lands somewhere between $8k and $13k.
We're hoping to raise funds/search for SUVs over the next 1 to 2 weeks.
Zach does NOT know about this. So please don't share this page publicly, or you know, with him specifically.
In a few weeks, we're hoping to just roll up with a new vehicle for him, hand him the keys, and say "Don't try to make this make sense, just know you're loved." And then he will violently cry, but in a good way.
