On December 5th, 2025, Xavier Gonzales was driving to his roofing job in St. Paul, when he was stopped by 5-6 cars and 15 DHS agents stepped out and detained him. Xavier has an active, pending asylum case with USCIS and he has a work permit and social security card. The DHS agents did not ask him any questions. They detained him and took him to a detention center in Sherburne County, Minnesota where he spent the next 30 days until he was released on bail.
Xavier is married to Veronica and they have 2 children, an 8 year old boy and a 2 year old with special needs. Xavier is the sole breadwinner for his household and has not been able to work for the last 2 months. Both Xavier and Veronica are scared to leave the house in fear they may be detained again and leave their children alone.
Xavier and Veronica have spent their life savings on bail and to pay their lawyer. Please donate to help fund their legal representation, flights if they need to leave, and general household needs.
