Wycombe Food Hub - helping the most vulnerable

Help Wycombe Food Hub Fund the Refit of Our New Community Resilience Hub
Wycombe Food Hub began during the first lockdown as a small, volunteer‑powered effort rescuing surplus food for people suddenly facing hardship. Six years later, we have grown into a trusted, essential community service supporting hundreds of households across High Wycombe every week.

We rescue over 900 green crates of fresh, chilled, frozen and ambient surplus food every week — food that is perfectly good to eat but would otherwise go to waste. This allows us to provide affordable food and essential items to people who often fall through the cracks:

Those who don’t qualify for government aid

Self‑employed people with no access to benefits

People recently made redundant

Residents unable to access traditional food banks

Struggling veterans

Refugees and those experiencing homelessness

Demand continues to rise as the cost‑of‑living crisis deepens.

Why We Need Your Help Now
We are creating a Community Resilience Hub — a place where people can access affordable food, practical support, early‑help services, volunteering opportunities, and a warm, welcoming community space.

We have secured a new building that will allow us to continue and expand this work.
But before we can move in, we must carry out a full refit to make the building safe, functional and suitable for food storage, community use, and partnership delivery.

To make this possible, we need to raise:

£50,000 – One‑off cost to refit and prepare the new building
This essential refit includes:

Commercial chillers and freezers

Shelving and racking

Flooring and safety surfaces

Electrical works and lighting

Signage and accessibility improvements

Essential equipment for food handling and storage

These are the foundations that will allow us to operate safely and at scale.

£75,000 – Annual running costs to keep the hub operating during and after the move
This funding ensures we can:

Maintain services without interruption

Keep the hub open six days a week

Support volunteers and partner agencies

Continue providing affordable food and early‑help support

Your support will directly fund the refit and secure a safe, dignified, long‑term home for Wycombe Food Hub.

Why Your Support Matters
A properly refitted Community Resilience Hub means:

More capacity to store and distribute food

A safer, more accessible environment for volunteers and visitors

Stability for the hundreds of households who depend on us

Space to expand our community support, early‑help services, and partnership work

This is not just a building.
It is an investment in the long‑term resilience of High Wycombe.
