Inclusive playgrounds, the objective is to include everyone. They are thoughtfully designed to provide a safe place where children of all abilities can play together, and are developmentally appropriate for children with and without mobility devices.
An inclusive playground takes away the barriers to exclusion, both physical and social, providing a “sensory rich” experience for all.
Fairplains Baptist Church, located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, is building the FIRST Inclusive PlayPlace in Western North Carolina. This PlayPlace will be located behind Fairplain's Church next to the ARC (Activity & Resource Center) which is also fully ADA accessible. The Wilkes County PlayPlace will be open to everyone in our community and the surrounding area at all times. This will forever change the lives of children in our community, who previously have been unable to access other playgrounds. There will be more information and updates to follow as we progress in funding and building this for our children of tomorrow.
