Fáilte Abhaile Foundation - Irish “Birthright” Program
Donation protected
I am raising funds to create a Foundation (nonprofit) that will empower and reconnect Indigenous Irish living abroad with their heritage and communities through cultural, educational, and economic support programs, acknowledging the historical challenges faced by our people.
Purpose Statement:
Develop and implement youth programs aimed at preserving and revitalizing Indigenous language and cultural knowledge. These "Ceart Folaíochta" programs will serve as cultural education platforms similar to other cultures’ 'birthright' experiences, fostering a deep connection with Indigenous heritage among younger generations.
Facilitate the return of Indigenous Irish living abroad and enhance the experiences of Indigenous Irish visitors by establishing comprehensive support networks and providing logistical assistance that ease transitions and enrich stays in Ireland.
Negotiate group buying and discount agreements with vendors to reduce the cost of living and essential services for Indigenous Irish (specifically Foundation Members), both domestically and abroad.
Promote Indigenous Irish arts and sports by providing platforms for exposure, funding for events, and support for artists and athletes.
Historical Context:
Throughout history, the Indigenous Irish have faced significant adversities, including capture, enslavement and forced servitude at the hands of North Africans, Vikings, and the English. The Great Famine further devastated our people, causing many to flee their homeland for survival, spreading to the four corners of the globe. Our foundation seeks to heal these wounds by reconnecting the diaspora with their roots and advocating for their rights and recognition.
Why Your Support Matters: Your contribution helps us:
• Build robust support systems for returning expatriates.
• Reduce living costs through strategic partnerships.
• Promote and preserve rich Irish cultural traditions and language.
• Advocate effectively for the political rights of the Indigenous Irish and the Irish Diaspora.
How to Help:
Donate: Your financial support is crucial. It directly funds our programs and helps us achieve our goals of reconnecting and supporting the Indigenous Irish community at home and abroad.
