Wayward Winter: Out of the Cold

Who this will help
I'm Nicholas Richards, a trailrunner and Ultramarathoner. I run to enhance my connection to the world and improve mental wellness, overcoming traumas and conditioning of last circumstances. I run for those unable to and am always grateful for every step I take.
With the realization that not all are so privileged in getting to train in the cold and have a warm house to go back to - some live in the cold without a choice. That is why I wish to raise money and awareness for members of our community that are OUT IN THE COLD this Winter and support the community association by the same name.
In preparing to run 2 Ultramarathons this January, 60km and ~80km a week apart, I will run in every condition that this winter can throw at us in order to raise money for this cause. My plan is to total at least 300km in January, including these 2 winter Ultras!
For every $1,000 raised I will spend 1 minute in the ocean in the month of February, with video proof if requested!
Why I'm fundraising
Our community has people that live outdoors, in tents, or exposed. Shelters run out of room and turn people away. I read of a man by the name of Dan dying of carbon monoxide poisoning from a propane heater in his tent.
I just want to do my part and allow others an opportunity to pitch in, while I undergo physical and mental challenges for the benefit of all involved.
The impact of your support
All funds will go directly to Out of the Cold Community Association based in Halifax and Dartmouth. They will allocate and use funds based on their discretion and needs of the people that use their services.
