No Family Should Drink Contaminated Water Help Us Build a Solar Well in Ahiewm Community, Ningo-Prampram Region, Ghana . Right now, in a community in Ghana, families are forced to drink water from a shrinking rain pond shared with animals. Children, pregnant women, and elderly people are getting sick because clean drinking water is not available.
With your help, we can build a solar-powered borehole well and give this community safe water for the first time. ⸻ My name is Jelena Popadić-Glass. I am a 61-year-young woman, a mother, teacher, and artist living and working in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
One of my greatest passions is working together with communities in Africa to help provide basic needs such as clean drinking water, food, and education.
Recently, a friend and Pan African activist known as AFRICAUNITESOJA / Flagman-King brought my attention to an alarming situation in his country, Ghana. Through his platform, he advocates for improving the lives of communities, promotes the concept of “Africa Unite,” organizes workshops, and supports creative and educational projects with children in schools.
I have been following his work through TikTok, where he shares updates about community life and the challenges people face. I truly admire his honesty, compassion, and dedication to helping others.

Since I am a woman and a mother, I was especially touched by his reports and appeals about the urgent need for clean drinking water. I was deeply moved by the story of a pregnant woman who became seriously ill due to contaminated water.
Seeing the struggle of so many children and women who must rely on unsafe water sources affected me deeply. I felt that I could not simply stand by and do nothing.
I realised that I needed to act in my own way and do what I can to help. ⸻ The Water Crisis
In the Ningo-Prampram District. Many families struggle every day to find safe drinking water.
In some communities, there is no regular piped water supply. Water systems are not functioning well , there is lack of electricity , level of drinking water is dropping doe to climate change , so local water wells are drying up .Because of this, people are forced to collect water from a natural rainwater pond.
This pond is not safe. It is shared by people and animals, and waste from the surrounding environment contaminates the water. During the dry season, the pond begins to shrink, stagnate, and produce a strong smell.
Despite these conditions, families must still collect this water to drink, cook, and wash, because they have no other option.
The health consequences are serious. Contaminated water is causing illness in the community. Children, elderly residents, and pregnant women are especially vulnerable. Recently, a pregnant woman and her unborn baby were diagnosed with a bacterial infection believed to be linked to unsafe water.
No family should have to drink contaminated water simply to survive. The Solution A solar-powered borehole well can provide clean, safe groundwater for the community.
This system uses solar energy to pump water from deep underground into a storage tank, where people can collect safe water from community taps.
One borehole can provide clean water for 300–500 people every day.
Experts estimate that the surrounding communities need at least four boreholes to fully meet the demand for safe water. However, we can begin by building one borehole and changing life for one community.
Every well brings health, dignity, and hope. ⸻ Our Goal
The estimated cost to build one solar-powered borehole system is $8,000–$10,000. This includes:
• Drilling the borehole
• Installing a solar water pump
• Building a water storage tank and tower
• Installing pipes and community taps
With your help, we can give families safe drinking water and protect children from waterborne diseases. ⸻ Why Your Support Matters
Clean water changes everything. It improves health, allows children to grow safely, and reduces the daily struggle families face just to survive.
By helping us build the first borehole, you will be helping an entire community gain access to safe water.
Together, we can take the first step toward solving the water crisis in Ningo-Prampram. ⸻ How You Can Help
Your support can change lives. Even a small donation can help bring clean, safe water to families who urgently need it.
Together, we can give this community something every human deserves — access to clean drinking water.
Please donate if you can, and share this campaign so we can reach the goal together. Lets put a smile on meany peoples faces ! I
