I am calling my quest:
"177 on 7 - Fighting hunger in Vermont one step at a time!"
This will be quite a challenge for me as I have become quite sedentary over the years and now contend with a variety of aches and pains. In addition to wanting to support these agencies in a significant way, I am also feeling a need to challenge myself to get a grip on my own relationship with food and take better care of this body in which I live.
The food shelves which will benefit from your donations are the:
1. Vergennes Community Food Shelf
2. Richmond Food Shelf & Thrift Store
3. Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
4. Williston Community Food Shelf
Why these four? Because - I work in Vergennes, live in the Huntington/Richmond community, grew up in Burlington, and belong to a church with ties to Williston.
Please consider supporting this cause. Hunger is experienced by countless Vermonters every day. Together we can help many of these families meet one of their most basic needs. Thank you.
(I hope to learn the intricacies of blogging and post progress notes on my walk this summer. If I succeed, you will find these posts at: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/vthammonds).
