Hello, my name is Jaimie, located in West Virginia, USA, and I am helping to raise funds for the Abu Zayed family in Gaza, occupied Palestine. I sponsor this family by sharing their story via Tiktok, predominantly, and using global P2P to transfer the funds swiftly to the family via a money exchange office located in Gaza. Please take a moment to read this family's story and consider donating, even just five dollars. Together, we can help this family survive and give them a chance to live like other people.
Here is the family's story, in their own words:
To the compassionate hearts who understand the meaning of humanity, I am Youssef Abu Zayed from Palestine, specifically Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. I am the eldest son of a family that now consists of 8 members. Please read our full story, as we need your help to save what remains of my family. On May 4, 2024, we received news of the evacuation of Rafah due to bombing and displacement. We then moved to Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, and to this day, the bombing and shelling continue. The army targets both safe and unsafe areas. Our family consisted of 11 people, and to our great sorrow, my sister Lama, 12 years old, and my sister Rimas, 15 years old, were martyred by sniper fire. My sister Rahaf was also martyred before our displacement from Rafah on March 26, 2024. This loss has deeply saddened my family. The pain of losing my sisters is immense, and I am striving to prevent further tragedies. Here are their death certificates ⬇️
My father, who worked tirelessly to support us, lost his job due to the widespread destruction in Gaza. Today, I am the sole provider for my parents and siblings, and we face unbearable living conditions – no job opportunities, no income, a suffocating blockade, closed borders, and the severe famine that has struck Gaza have turned survival into a daily battle. The struggle to survive under these circumstances seems impossible.
We have been displaced four times in Mawasi, Khan Younis, due to the attacks against us. Our home has been destroyed, our dreams shattered, and we have nothing left.
I write this with tears streaming down my face; we are still living a real nightmare.
There is no food, no water, and no medicine.
My parents are truly suffering.
My mother suffers from chronic stress due to the war and the loss of my three sisters. I have come to you hoping that you will support me and my family in our right to a dignified life.
The winter and our urgent needs:
Living in a tent is extremely difficult. It provides no privacy and is not big enough for us. Life in displacement and living in tents is incredibly harsh; you feel like you are living in a constant state of chaos and despair.
In the tent, we all sleep together, which leads to the rapid spread of diseases among us. If one person gets sick, everyone gets sick. There is absolutely no privacy. During moments of shelling, the fear is overwhelming because the tent fabric offers no protection from shrapnel.
Your donation today could be the difference between life and death for us. Please, do not leave us alone – we are living this tragedy every moment, and we need your compassionate hearts to extend a helping hand.
