Hi, I’m Polina, and I was part of the first cohort of the Responsible Design for Good fellowship. It’s been a truly transformative experience. Through the fellowship, I learned and applied responsible design practices focused on supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

I engaged in self-paced training and worked with my team despite being a very challenging job schedule where I could only work asynchronously, but they were very accommodating to make sure I was able to contribute and learn. What stood out most was being mentored and coached by people with lived experience, designing with them, not just for them, and realizing how much responsibility we as designers have to make things right long term.

I’m excited to put what I’ve learned into practice and continue growing. I also hope to share this knowledge with my sister, who is studying marketing, so the impact can spread further.
