Hello, my name is Ty'Tiaunna Thomas and I am a sophomore Biology Pre-med major from Albany, Georgia. I attend Spelman College. I am raising money to attend a (Study Abroad) Global Health Trip to Trinidad. The total payment for this trip is 3,500 and I will be taking donations until January 30, 2016 (all funds will go towards my travel package). This trip is of great importance to me because this summer at a medical program in New York City, I was educated on the lack of health care experienced by minorities, not only in the United States, but globally. Knowing that there are innocent ill people internationally that need my help, as a future healthcare professional, I believe it is my duty to educate myself so that one day I can be of service to them. Attending this trip would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience because this would be my first time leaving the United States to enhance my health care related skills and knowledge. Also, I know that traveling to Trinidad would expose me to people of a different culture, while displaying the similarities and differences we share in healthcare. One of my future goals is to travel the world and provide healthcare to children in need because my passion lies within serving those who are not able to serve themselves. Therefore, it would be an honor and great pleasure to attend this trip to Trinidad and all the skills and information I bring back will be used to change the world in tremendous ways. Thank you.
