Tut's Run for Serenity Star Ranch
Donation protected
Hi Friends! I am running the
3M Half Marathon
in Austin on January 25th to raise funds and awareness for
SerenityStar Recovery
in Smithville, TX. A non-profit charity for addicts and their families.
This place saved my life and I am proud to call it my home.
Our Mission:
SerenityStar provides a safe, sober & spiritual environment for individuals and/or families to recover from their addictions.
What makes us different?
We do not turn anyone away who is willing to recover, regardless of their financial situation.
What is SerenityStar Ranch?
Since our program is working, and the word is spreading due to media coverage and word of mouth, we need resources to expand our facility to create
SerenityStar Ranch
Currently the program operates out of two buildings on 1st street in Smithville.
Comfort Cafe (111 NW 1st Street): A “Pay What You Can” donation only cafe.
Texas Country Reporter Comfort Cafe Piece
Wellness 1st Yoga (113 NW 1st Street): A “Pay What You Can” donation only yoga studio open to the community.
In addition to these 2 programs, we have the Men's House. Just minutes from our downtown Smithville location, SerenityStar has 10 acres just waiting to be developed into a beautiful, healing ranch. This will allow us to greatly increase our capacity to help more people. Currently we have one 5,000 sq ft building on the property. This building is our Men’s Housing.
The Men's Housing includes a living room, three bathrooms, full kitchen and an open 1,800 sq ft dorm that comfortably accommodates 25 beds. Live in Staff and the "House Dad" have a separate bedroom and bathroom in the Men's Housing.
We also have the Serenity P.A.W.S (Pets Are Worth Saving) program that helps train rescue dogs to be adoptable. Working with the Bastrop Animal Rescue. We now have two dogs. I am leading this program with the help of 3 other men.
Our Vision for the Ranch:
Housing for 5 families - 50 men and 50 women.
Cafe/Dinning Hall - Culinary & nutrition classes, bakery & garden
Freedom House - 12 step meetings & game Room
Play House: theatre, art, music, writing & more.
Native Sweat Lodge
Serenity House - Place for private prayer/meditation
Compassion House - Yoga, massage, acupuncture and other
Healing House - 1:1 Counseling & group family counseling
Dignity House - Library, computer skills, & clothes closet
Earth House - Green & eco friendly alternative energy program
Farm House - Animal therapy/ Serenity P.A.W.S Program (Pets Are Worth Saving)
Please help me meet and surpass my goal of $2,500 by donating to an incredibly worthy cause. Lives DO depend on our growth.
With Love and Gratitude,
Tut Jones
