Tuamgraney Park and Christmas Lights, Co. Clare

This fund raiser is for upgrade works and Christmas lighting at the East Clare Memorial park in Tuamgraney Co. Clare
The park opened in 1952 and is the only garden of remembrance to the War of Independence in east Clare. Known locally as "The Green" it is a much used and enjoyed public space. The last major upgrade works were carried out in in the late 1990's and the park was beginning to look a little tired.
Improvement works have been carried out to make the park more inviting and accessible. These include upgrading of all steps and footpaths, the installation of new granite paving in front of the Memorial, creation of a new seating area with a timber gazebo, additional seating around the park and the re-plastering of all exterior boundary walls.
In recent years we have significantly enhanced the Christmas lighting within the park and this year again there will be further improvements for all to enjoy. At the end of a testing year for us all we hope this will provide some joy for all who pass through our beautiful village.
Works to the park have been made possible due to a successful application for funding under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme 2020. Additional match funding is required for the upgrade works. Funding is also being sought with regards to the provision of the Christmas light display.
