Scout Troop 66 Trailer Replacement

My name is Carrick Buss. My son Andrew and I are members of Boy Scout Troop 66 in Tulsa, OK. I'm writing on behalf of the entire Troop which includes ~12 young men, their parents and grandparents, ~6 adult leaders, and an active Cub Scout Pack who is our future.
It's with a heavy heart that we found out that our Troop trailer was stolen a few days ago. With it, we lost 90% of our gear we use for camping. Camp kitchens, tables, stoves, lanterns, tents, cots, dining fly - everything gone in an instant. Should we hit our goal, funds will go towards replacing these basic camping items for our Troop.
Troop 66 is small, but active in west Tulsa, and has a long, 50 year history of producing distinguished Eagle Scouts and teaching young men to be the best they can be.
More than the gear were the memories and intangibles like our handmade Troop sign, patrol boxes, and patrol flags that gaveTroop 66 it's identity for so long.
We are now raising money to replace our trailer and the camping gear inside. Scouting is all about getting kids out into nature, teaching them character and values, and the value of working together. Camping is the primary means by which this happens. Ask any Scout, and they will tell you that camping means everything to them. We camp nearly every month of the year, and it's one of the most important things we do for our boys.
While we'll be able to continue our program (a Scout is always prepared!), it won't be easy. Our group comes largley from middle and lower income areas, and this is quite a blow to our Troop. We simply don't have the means or manpower to fundraise to the extent that is required to bounce back from this quickly.
So, we're asking you, friends. If you are a Scout, know a Scout, or are a Scouting alumni, you know how much this means to us as a Troop. For everyone else, we graciously ask for your support so that we can continue the Scouting program in our area which is so important for boys and young men in this day and age.
