The second oldest Boy Scout troop in San Diego, University City’s Troop 11, was robbed last week!
Their 20-foot-long troop camping trailer was stolen from it's long-term secured location in the church parking lot in University City.
This local Troop is comprised mostly of Scouts from both Clairemont and University City, and you can imagine how devastated the Scouts are!
A partial list of what was stolen is listed below:
All of the Troop's tents, propane tanks, lanterns, dutch ovens, large stoves/griddles, tarps, ropes, hatchets, buckets, first-aid kits, water containers, coolers, gateway poles, charcoal, pop-ups, saws, as well as the 5 patrol boxes which holds each Patrol's camp stoves, cooking equipment, utensils and general supplies. . . the list goes on.
We need your help!
With contributions from our families, friends, neighbors, as well as University City and Clairemont families, businesses and community organizations, we can help replace these items and save up for a new trailer and a large conex storage box, so the items can remain more secure in the future.
Troop 11 has contributed countless Eagle Scout projects in the University City and Clairemont communities, with 9 projects in process. Current and past completed works have included UC Little League, Dinosaur Park, Curie Elementary, Tecolote Nature Center, Cadman Park, Hilltopper's Little League, Hawthorne Elementary. . . and so many others!
Please consider donating to this very worthy, and appreciative organization!
P.S. Funds will be transferred directly to Boy Scout Troop 11's checking account, in care of Mary Ricci, Committee Chairperson. Thank you again for your support!!
