(IVHQ) provides Volunteers with quality, safe Volunteering placements in developing countries. (You may find one that's of interest to you!)
The project I'll be Volunteering for is:
SURF OUTREACH PROJECT
Surfing is one of the most thrilling water sports for kids in Cape Town. This has been incorporated into a program to teach them how to surf and to encourage a healthier lifestyle. The Surf Outreach Project takes underprivileged children off the street and teaches them valuable life lessons in the form of sports and team work.
Cape Town's diversity is largely celebrated today, but the effects of apartheid -- the forced racial segregation that lasted over four decades -- can still be felt throughout South Africa.
While issues such as high unemployment and the HIV/AIDS epidemic threaten economic progress, South Africans are determined to make up for decades of social disruption, inequitable services, and lost opportunities.
Likewise, I am determined to make a difference in the lives of these children and young adults, but I need your assistance.
Assisted by my very generous friends, I've raised over $16,000 for charities since 2009. Now I am asking for your assistance with my Cape Town Volunteer adventure.
Your generous donation will help IVHQ continue to provide Volunteers like myself support while I am there, including modest housing and meals. You will be helping the Surf Outreach Project continue to make a difference in the lives of so many young people.
If you choose, you may make an online donation where it says DONATE.
Thank you so much for your continued generosity, friendship and love!
