Georgia’s 4-Year Life Day Challenge: 146.1km for Hope

Four years ago, my life changed forever. What began as an ordinary day ended in an accident that left me fighting for my life and facing years of pain, rehab, and uncertainty.

Every one of those 1,461 days since has been a lesson in resilience, gratitude, and the power of never giving up.

This year, as I celebrate my fourth Life Day ,the day I survived, I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet: a 24-hour endurance event covering 146.1 km, representing every single day of the past four years. Having only taken my first steps after 3.5 years in May this year it’s going to be a challenge!

The challenge includes a 4 km swim, 132.1 km cycle, and 10 km run/hobble, each symbolising a part of my journey, from learning to move again to pushing the limits of what I thought possible.

But this isn’t just for me. I’m raising funds for two incredible charities that are changing lives every day:

Millimetres to Mountains (M2M)

M2M supports individuals who have faced life-changing injuries or trauma, using adventure and community as tools for recovery and growth. They’ve given me far more than opportunities, they’ve given me a family. Over the past three years as an M2M beneficiary, I’ve learned how to open up, find purpose again, and reconnect with life beyond survival. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I’m forever grateful for the friendships, courage, and hope they’ve brought into my world.

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice

This charity provides vital care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire and beyond.
This year, I started working with an incredible young girl ,now my “adopted little sister”, Isla, who benefits from the hospice.
She’s taught me more about joy, resilience, and love than I could ever put into words. Seeing firsthand the difference Alexander Devine makes in her life has been profoundly moving. They rely on donations to keep supporting families like Isla’s, and I’m honoured to raise funds in her name.

This challenge will be tough. Swimming means relying solely on my arms, cycling comes with its own set of battles, and running, well, it’s more of a determined hobble or gallop. But the pain I’ll face in these 24 hours is nothing compared to what I felt four years ago, or what so many others face daily.

If you can, please donate and help me give back to those who helped me rebuild my life, and to those still fighting their own battles.
