Restore the Mogumber Hub, A community owned pub

THE MOGUMBER COMMUNITY BOUGHT THE LOCAL PUB!

Help the Mogumber volunteers restore the historic building and transform the venue into THE MOGUMBER HUB, a place for the community to gather & socalise.

The former Mogumber Tavern has been purchased by the Mogumber Outback Club Inc. MOC is a not-for-profit (incorporated) association based in the small country town of Mogumber, Western Australia. Our mission is to provide a community atmosphere within Mogumber via the promotion of social and sporting activities.

The Mogumber Tavern remained the only public business operating in the small rural townsite. The Harrisons were the previous owners and have retired as long-term publicans, now in their 80’s.

The historic 130-year-old building has been undergoing renovations in recent months, bringing the building up to modern standards while highlighting the historic bones. Much of the renovation has been undertaken by local volunteers.

There is still much work to complete, including the exterior of the building and accommodation rooms.

The Mogumber Hub will serve the food, beverage and accommodation needs of the district while providing a social Hub for the community. The local demand for hospitality has become more evident in recent years, and the shortage of worker accommodation has impacted both local businesses and the district’s ability to grow. Most of all, social interaction is an essential requirement that continues to suffer in rural areas such as Mogumber. The Mogumber Hub will be a gathering point for the district.
