The Long Walk Project
I’m starting this journey solo from West Michigan. Just me, my pack, and the road ahead.
My first destination is Miami, Florida. After that, I’ll be heading west! All the way to San Diego, California. No support team. No van following me. No shortcuts. Just one person walking thousands of miles to carry a message: No one should have to face their mental health battles alone.
This isn’t just a physical journey. It’s personal. Every step I take is for someone who feels like they can’t take another.
I’ve been in that place. I know what it’s like to carry weight that no one sees, not on your back, but in your chest. And I know how far a small act of compassion can reach. That’s why I’m doing this.
Why I Walk
Because mental health doesn’t have a finish line. It doesn’t clock out at 5 p.m. And it doesn’t care how tough you pretend to be.
And I believe that even one person, walking solo across the country.. can spark conversations, raise awareness, and offer hope to someone who needs it.
Where the Money Goes-
All donations from this GoFundMe will go directly to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) the largest grassroots mental health organization in the U.S. Once I arrive in Miami Florida.
NAMI provides:
1- Free education and support programs
2- Advocacy for better mental health policies
and access to care
3- Resources for individuals, families, and
communities
4- A 24/7 Helpline that connects people to real,
immediate help
They’re doing the work that saves lives, for people who often feel invisible. That’s a cause worth every mile.
No Dollar Amount - Just Direction
I’m not setting a fundraising target. Because this isn’t about reaching a number. It’s about changing the conversation. One step, one share, one life at a time. Whether this raises $500 or $500,000, it matters. Every single dollar helps someone find support, stability, and maybe even hope again.
This fundraiser is only for NAMI. But if you’d like to support me directly, with food, gear, or a safe place to rest. I’ve added a few personal links below.
Your support helps me stay out here, keep walking, and keep spreading this message.

Thanks for Being Here If you’ve ever felt alone, overwhelmed, or invisible, this walk is for you. If you’ve lost someone to mental illness, this walk is for them. And if you believe in showing up for people, even strangers, then this walk is yours, too. Let’s keep going. Let’s carry the message. Let’s remind the world: Mental health matters, and so do the people living through it.
