Disabled-Owned, Organic Farm needs your help!

We are the Hrothgar’s, Sky (he/him) and Tayler (she/her), and we are the disabled owners/operators of The Golden Hallows, a Mystical Family Farm and Regenerative Sanctuary in Southern Oregon.

We are navigating financial hardship due to disability and are working to keep our home and farm.

Sky is a disabled ex-athlete and organic chef with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), Bipolar 1 (Manic Depressive) Disorder, and chronic physical pain from traumatic injury. Before his physical disability worsened, Sky worked professionally as a Chef, Fishmonger, and Butcher specializing in sustainability, organic production, and food safety. Now, his time is spent practicing meditation and yoga, studying healing, being with our animals, in nature or gardens on our property. Shortly after moving to Oregon, Sky's physical disability worsened, severely limiting his mobility and challenging him to find new ways to manage his mental conditions. He can no longer hold a traditional job away from home or work as a laborer on our farm because of the variability in his care. For the past four years, Sky has been focusing on holistically healing and continued training to contribute within his capacities. Sky has been working towards two self-paced certifications to help him start working part-time as an intimate relationship coach and yoga teacher.

Tayler is a disabled CNA, Sky's caregiver, and works full-time on our property, raising food, animals, and medicine as the primary caretaker. In late February 2020, Tayler experienced two grand mal seizures and was hospitalized overnight. After seeing a neurologist, she was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), which she had experienced undiagnosed episodes of since 2015. Tayler could not work or drive for over a year due to the terrible side effects of the prescribed seizure medication, which didn't stop the focal onset seizures. She has spent the last few years focused on healing from the toxic pharmaceutical and stabilizing herself through consciousness work, yoga, spending time with our animals, and in nature on our property. Through the focus, dedication, and hard work of healing, Tayler has safely and successfully gotten off the anti-seizure medication. She still has focal onset seizures, from the TLE, during hormonal shifts throughout the month but hasn't had any more grand mal seizures. We have learned to take extra care and stay prepared for any sudden changes that may occur. Tayler can not work a traditional job because of the unpredictability of her seizures. She has also been training to become an intimate relationship coach and is a gifted crystal crafter.

These health challenges have made it even more important to focus on our health, nutrition, our environment, and vision of regeneration.

We bought and founded our property in 2018 as a haven for natural healing organic growth, and for us to live with our disability peacefully. We have animals, gardens, and other things here to leverage holistic stability naturally. Our dream is to grow into a nonprofit farm and to be a safe space for natural healing. A place for people to connect authentically and learn to live in seasonal harmony with each other and nature.

Month to month, we don't need much more than the benefits we qualify for, but we do need enough, and right now - we don’t have it. Sky has a disability claim with the SSA. Tayler has started a claim with the SSI. The processes could take more than another year even to have a hearing. We have hired legal representation to help represent us. While pursuing these benefits, we need help now with food, debt, maintenance, and utilities.

We need donations for the following:

* basic living costs and utilities

* a roof replacement for our home

* medicine/healthcare expenses

* property fencing for livestock

* credit card/ medical debt

* home insurance

* property tax

* emergency maintenance (electrical, water, and plumbing)

* operational costs/labor

* wildfire protection

* animal/ pet feed

* seeds and plant starts
